About me
I first discovered Tolkien as a child (in the 1980s which feels a very long time ago, mainly because it is) when my teacher chose The Hobbit for our class to read. From there I went on to borrow my Dad’s copy of the Lord of the Rings and read it every summer for several of my teenage years. I’m recently (since the pandemic) returned to serious engagement with Tolkien’s legendarium and have The Prancing Pony Podcast to thank for developing my knowledge, understanding and appreciation of all things Tolkien. This is my second year at Oxonmoot. I’m attending remotely as my introvert self has not worked up the courage to attend in person. Maybe in 2025….
As for what to talk to me about, I‘m also an enduring superfan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Feel free to ask me how. My career has been in law. I was a practicing solicitor for many years and I am currently in a role that supports the learning and development of the lawyers at all levels. I’m also a qualified therapeutic counsellor. I don’t suggest that you talk to me about legal matters, but I am an enthusiast of life-long learning and personal development and I’m fascinated by human behaviour.
