Oxonmoot 2024

This one is for the fans, its purpose being to 'fill up the corners'! I hope the slides and talk will offer a little light relief and fun. I plan to take you on parts of my journeys in New Zealand, where I met owners and equine movie stars. The first, Jane Leneghan (nee Abbott), Lyv Tyler's stunt riding-double, gave a home to Aragorn's horse Brego (aka Ureaus). Jane's main movie horse 'Asfaloth' (aka Florian) was gifted to her at the end of filming by Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn). She also homed several Black Rider horses (Chico being one), Rohan horses, and (one of) Gandalf's cart ponies, Clydee. I had the privilege of riding both Florian and Chico, and scratching that 'hard-to-reach' itch on Uraeus' rump when he was an old fellow! This latter action was indirectly involved when I met Viggo in 2016!  Finally, I met Linda Boulton, who loaned several of her 'Gypsy Vanner' cobs for Thorin (aka Richard Armitage)and Co. to ride in TH movie; and I rode one, Savannah (Thorin's mount).
