There are many criticisms of Tolkien related to women's roles in his work. In the stories of the Children of Hurin there are many female characters representing many different roles in the story. These include: Aerin, Finduilas, Lalaith, Melian, Morwen, Nellas, Nienor/Niniel, and Rian.

The purpose of this presentation is to address the different roles they play and impact on the story.
