This presentation will compare and contrast the parallels (both strong and weak) between Tolkien’s history of the fall of Numenor in the Second Age of Middle-earth with the primeval history of earth in Genesis 1-11. Tolkien mentions a parallel between Noah’s flood and the drowning of Numenor in his Letters. This presentation will build on Tolkien’s comparison.
